LIBRARY NEWS:  Book Swap a Great Success!

Thank you so much for all your support for the Book Swap. Almost 900 tickets were
exchanged for free books, and we raised approximately 5000 soles, which translates to an
additional 2500 books sold. In addition, hundreds of books were donated to charity, and
even more added to classroom libraries. And, we added some high quality books to the
library collection. The profits will be used to support reading programs in the library,
and a percentage was donated for the purpose of building libraries in greater Peru.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT IMAGES YOUR CHILD IS DOWNLOADING AND/OR SENDING TO FRIENDS?

A number of students at another private school in Lima are facing charges after downloading pornographic images of underage individuals, saving them on their computers and then sending them to friends by email. They certainly had no idea that they could end up in jail and have a criminal record for doing this. This is something that could follow them for years to come and even impact what college they attend or career path they follow. Warn your child ­ this is not a joke. What might seem like "normal" adolescent curiosity may be against the law and carry consequences which are beyond what you would like your child to face.

EL CHASQUI 2008:

El Chasqui 2008 will arrive in June. This yearbook has more than 200 pages all in color.
All students and staff grades EC3-12 are included. Pay for your book by May 9th and the cost is S/ 50. Last year's price was $45. You may order your book by paying in the Cashier's Office. During conference week you may pay in the Elementary or Middle School Offices or in the library on HS conference days. At this reduced price you can buy one for each child in your family!
