Birthday Parties

      In grades 1-5, students’ birthday parties are not held at school. Parents may, nonetheless, bring or send cupcakes or a small treat to school to share with classmates during lunch or recess. The celebration should not interfere with class instruction. Students are requested not to bring birthday gifts for other students in the class.

      If you are planning to celebrate your child's birthday only distribute birthday party invitations at school if there is one for everyone in your child’s class, OR one for every boy or every girl. We strive to create a learning environment where all children feel included and accepted by their classmates, and this will help to ensure that a student doesn’t feel excluded.
