Student - Parent Handbook 2004-2005

School Clothing

Elementary Uniform

All students (EC3 - grade 12) are required to wear the offical school uniform.  Parents may purchase the following uniform items in the Uniform Shop on the lower floor of the high school building between 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. daily.  Phone  435-0890 Ext. 4146

Caps and Sunscreen

We encourage parents to apply sunscreen to their children each morning before leaving for school.  Also, students should wear a cap or hat while outside.  The sun is much stronger than it feels, and sunscreen and caps are necessary for good skin care in Lima.

  • dark blue sweat pants or unisex shorts with red stripes and FDR logo
  • white socks (with or without FDR logo/initials)
  • all black or all white sneakers (one color with matching shoe laces)

  • Girls may use dark blue lycra gym shorts under P.E. pants.
  • Students may use red, white or navy blue scarves in cold weather.
  • Students may wear hats or caps outside.

Identification of Personal Property
Parents and students are asked to be sure that all student clothing and personal belongings are labeled clearly with the student’s name, so that they may be returned to the student if they have been misplaced. Students are requested NOT to bring articles such as jewelry, money, or other valuables to school.

School Supplies

Teachers provide the necessary materials for students.  When additional supplies are required (such as smocks for painting for younger students or binders for older students), teachers will notify students or their parents in a timely manner.

Lost and Found
When students find someone else’s personal property, they are asked to place it in the large yellow LOST AND FOUND box in front of the elementary office. When a student loses something, the student should look there first. If the item is not there, the student should ask in the classroom and in other areas of the school. If money or jewelry are found, students are asked to bring them to the elementary office.
