Transportation
Buses
School bus transportation is available for students in EC through grade 12, although students are reminded that riding the bus is a privilege. To enjoy this privilege, students must be responsible for their actions and follow the bus rules. Buses pick up students each morning in time to arrive to school by 7:45 a.m. EC/K buses leave school at 1:00 p.m. and elementary buses leave at 2:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. All students are dismissed early on Wednesdays, and buses leave school at 12:30 p.m. that day. Buses also take home students in grades 1-5 at 3:30 when After-
School Activities are over.

Bus Rules
All students are expected to obey the following bus rules to ensure that
everyone has a safe ride.
1. Show respect for bus drivers, staff members, and students.
2. Remain properly seated with seat belts fastened until the bus comes to a complete stop at your bus stop.
3. Talk politely and quietly.
4. Keep the bus clean. Throw trash in the waste basket on the bus.
5. Do not throw objects out of windows.
6. Keep body parts inside the bus.
7. Elementary students sit toward the front and secondary students sit toward the back of the bus.
8. *Look both ways before crossing the street after the bus pulls away. |
|
| * Traffic laws in Peru do not require cars and other vehicles to stop for school buses, nor do pedestrians have the right of way. Therefore, extreme caution must be used when crossing streets. |
Car Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures
Children’s security is our number one priority at all times. We ask for your full help,
cooperation and support for the following security procedures for elementary
students:
1. Please plan to have your children arrive at school by 7:30 in order to give sufficient
time to get to class by 7:55.
2. Only students, parents or legal guardians, and school personnel are allowed on
campus. Personnel who work for school families (nannies, maids and drivers) are
not allowed on campus until dismissal time.
3. Household staff delivering items to students must leave those items at the main
gate. They will be delivered to EC and ES students.
4. Visitors may only come on campus if they have an appointment, proper ID, and go
through the appropriate security measures.
5. EC and ES students should enter through either the car pickup area or, if accompanied
by a parent, the main gate.
6. Cars that drive through the car pickup area may only drop off EC and ES students
(MS/HS students must stay in the car and be dropped off at Gate 2 situated at the
far end of campus on Las Palmeras). Please pull all the way forward when dropping
off students.
7. All cars entering the car pick up area must have valid school ID stickers in the left,
front, lower corner of the window.
8. No taxis will be allowed on campus.
9. Teacher Assistants will be available at the car pick up area to help younger students
to their classrooms.
10. Parents who wish to walk their students to their classrooms are asked to please park
outside and walk their child(ren) through the main gate.
11. Buses will drop all students off inside the campus.
12. To facilitate the pick up of students after school, we ask that siblings always wait
together in the area designated for the youngest child in the family. For daily pick
up of EC-Kindergarten children, parents may choose to park outside and walk on
campus to get their children who are waiting with teachers in the pick up area, or
they may drive into the school and collect their children in the car pick up area.
On Wednesdays, if EC-Kindergarten students have siblings in middle or high school,
they may wait with the older siblings in the car pick up area for parents to pick them
up, or parents may pick their EC-Kindergarten children up on the Alameda.
13. Parents and nannies on campus to pick up EC-Kindergarten students are asked to
wait on the Alameda. Elementary students must wait to be picked up in front of the
ES office.
14. Parent volunteers who have permission to park on campus must have the
appropriate sticker. Cars parking on campus and their passengers may be subject
to a search.

Walking Home Students who live nearby may walk to and from school with their parents’ authorization. They should enter and leave by the main gate near the Round House and are required to show their walking pass to the guards. Walking passes are issued in the elementary office. |
| Permission Slips Whenever students go to a friend’s house after school or plan to leave by different means of transportation than usual, they are required to bring a note from their parents giving permission. When they arrive at school in the morning, students should give the permission note to the classroom teacher or to a secretary in the elementary office who will issue a yellow permission slip to the student. For the safety of students, permission given by telephone is not acceptable. |
| Permission for Transporting Groups of Students to Parties AfterSchool If you plan to take a group of students to your child’s birthday party or other event after school, you must complete the appropriate procedures and forms available in the elementary office. Parents are asked to make arrangements with secretaries several days before the activity. |
