Caps and Sunscreen

We encourage parents to apply sunscreen to their children each morning before leaving for school. Also, students should wear a cap or hat while outside. The sun is much stronger than it feels, and sunscreen and caps are necessary for good skin care in Lima.

School Supplies

All the supplies that students need for daily class activities or homework are generally provided by the school, but there may be an occasional special project or event for which students are asked to provide their own materials or contribute a small amount of money. When aditional supplies are required (such as smocks for painting for younger students or bindrs for older students), teachers will notify students and their parents in a timely manner.

Identification of Personal Property

Parents and students are asked to be sure that all student clothing and personal belongings are labeled clearly with the student’s name, so that they may be returned to the student if they have been misplaced.

Lost and Found

When students find someone else’s personal property, they are asked to place it in the large yellow LOST AND FOUND box in the breezeway around the corner from the nurses' office or give it to the office secretaries. When a student loses something, the student should look there first. If the item is not there, the student should ask in the classroom and in other areas of the school. If money or jewelry are found, students are asked to bring them to the elementary office for safekeeping by the secretaries.
