General Information
Colegio Roosevelt is a private, non-denominational, co-educational school providing an American-style curriculum in the English language for students in pre-school through twelfth grade. Our school was founded in 1946 by U.S. families living in Peru who wanted an American education for their children. Colegio Roosevelt is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Peruvian Ministry of Education. During the 2006-07 school year the school was also authorized to become an “IB World School”. Three school divisions - elementary, middle school and high school - are located on the same 24 acre campus. About 700 students attend the elementary school out of an approximate total enrollment of 1,300 students.
The elementary school consists of an early childhood program for three and four year olds (EC3 and EC4) and an elementary school program for students in kindergarten- grade 5. The school year begins in August and ends in early July. Summer break begins before Christmas and second semester resumes in late February or early March.
Colegio Roosevelt has an excellent library with a collection of over 40,000 books, local and international newspapers, magazines, and videos. The library is open for students and their parents on Saturday mornings and during summer and winter breaks.
