art of creating a design
by means of inscribing blocks of metal, wood, or some other hard
material with a point. |

printmaking technique
in which a metal plate (usually copper or zinc) is covered with
a waxy overlayer (ground) and then drawn with an etching needle.
The exposed areas are then "etched", or bitten into,
by a corrosive agent (acid), so that they will hold ink for painting. |

and literature that expresses inner emotions; in particular, a
movement in early 20th century art in northern and central Europe.
Expressionists tended to distort or exaggerate natural appearance
