- We are from...:Croatia . Find out about Croatia's beautiful countryside, it's wildlife and it's traditional songs and dances in this programme. Did you know that Marco Polo was born in Croatia? His statue stands proud for all to see, but there's a lot more for the Croatian people to be proud of, and some pretty unusual traditions too - can you imagine using a bowl of flour to catch fish?
- Many voices: Hais scare (Hindu culture) . Amar, a Sikh boy, is harassed at his new school and turned away at the community pool for wearing a turban. Hoping to avoid further confrontation, he will not remove his turban even to dry his hair.
- Native Americans : American Heritage series. Experience the rich history of the Native Americans through the eyes of young Suzy Redhawk as she recounts the stories told to her by her wise grandmother. From the rocky northwest coastline through the desert mesas, across the Great Plains to the eastern woodlands, Suzy visits the magnificent tribal cultures as they commune with nature and provide valuable lessons in life.
- Diversity Elementary: Culture and ethnicity. Kayoko travels to meet, among others, Tibetan exile Lobsang Sangay who explains that culture is comprised of acquired things like language, religion, marriage, holidays, food and all the things you believe in. The Professor helps Kayoko realize that her own Japanese ethnicity is the history of her cultural heritage. (K-2)
- Long ago, yesterday, and today . Compare the lives of people living in a community today to those who lived recently and long ago. Re-creations, artifacts, photographs, and time-lines tell the stories of how our parents, grandparents, and other ancestors lived on a daily basis.
