Process Journal's:

May 27, 2008: Today we got to class, and Lisa told us that she didn't know where she had left them! So then she went to look for them, and she didn't find them. So I went to the Tech class, then to the office, and the lost and found and there was no sign of them. Then Lisa thought that she had left the materials in Ms. Olivares room, since she is her first period teacher. But it was closed, so we couldn’t tells weather the materials where there or where nit there. So since we couldn’t start working on the car, we began to plan the width, length, height, etc of the car. So the next day we could begin as fast as possible since we lost a class of work.

Our goal for tomorrow: Start to build the car.

P.S: later on Lisa found the materials, they where in Mr. Duffields class.

May 29, 2008: Today in class we first decided to make the car out of can metal. So we began to paste two cans together. But then we notices that it was a bad ideas and that it wasn’t going to work. Then we thought to make the car out of Styrofoam since we also had those materials. So then we talked, and we all agreed on the idea.

Step 1) Paste Styrofoam’s with bigger Styrofoam chunk

Step 2) Put aluminum foil in the middle of the car

Step 3) Put a little piece of Styrofoam in one of the side’s wholes, for the motor

My goal for tomorrow: Tell my mom about the fabric.

What did we achieve today: Today we began to work on the car and we did a good job.

May 30, 2008: Today we worked on pasting the aluminum foil to the car. We fixed un pasted parts, and we worked on the project. My goal for tomorrow: Bring pink fabric and leopard fabric to cover the car.

June 2, 2008: Today in class got a better idea on how to connect the wheels to the car. My ideas was to connect a Lego piece on each angle of the bottom of the car, so we can then connect a small piece of Lego which is especially made to connect the wheels to your car. We changed the idea because we figured out that the car would connect better to the car, and won't come off.

My goal for tomorrow: Bring the wheels, and the logo piece.

June 3, 2008: Today in class it didn't go so well for use because I was suppose to bring the wheels but I couldn’t'. Because I couldn't find the box with the wheels because since we where going to move of house, we took the Lego pieces to my mom's store. And I didn't know that so that's why I couldn't bring the wheels. Also we changed my ideas of putting a Lego piece because we figured out that if we would connect a piece of Styrofoam to each of the far sides of the wheels. They would move easily and faster. And also the 3 of us preferred this idea.

My goal for tomorrow: Look for wheels in mom's store, and bring fabric.

June 6, 2008: Today in class Stephanie and I pasted the fabric (hot pink and leopard) to the car, while Lisa was pasting the Styrofoam to the wheels, and the motor too, with black electric tape. And Stephanie and I finished putting the hot pink fabric and the leopard false skin to the car!

My goal for tomorrow: Paste wheels to the car.

June 9, 2008: Today our goal was to connect the wheels to the car. We went out side, and with electric tape, we began to cut it, paste it, and connect the wheels to the car. I think that today we really concentrated on the project and did a good job. After pasting the wheels, Rodolfo leaded us a battery and we connected the battery to the wires to see if our car worked. And it did!† It was so fun because the car moved so slowly that we laughed, and laughed. I think that it was good day.

Our goal for tomorrow: Make the wheels work, and move faster!

June 10,2008: Today in class we fixed the wheels because they didn't move as we expected. So we had to take everything out. And create a new way of connecting the wheels to the car. What we did was put a long piece of Styrofoam in the middle of the car, from one side to the other. Then we do some holes and connect the wheels to the Styrofoam with electric tape and then secure it as well as possible. I personally think that this new idea is better because the wheels are able to move faster. Doing this we did a good job, and focused a lot. But during this process we had a problem, Lisa lost the eclectic tape (that she realized that she had puttee it in her pencil case), so we lost time looking for it.

Our goal for tomorrow: Have everything diner as planned.

June 12, 2008: Today in class we worked on purr first from last details non-our car. We also tried our car three times. The first time it didn't work because we had to connect the motor to the gear. The second time it worked but it went really slow. Because we had to cut out some Styrofoam in the bottom that made it go slow. The last time it WORKED!

Our goal for tomorrow: Try it tomorrow one more time.

June 13, 2008: Today in class we worked on our last details on our car. We tested it like 10 times. And we reformed the wheels. Then we pasted fabric on top of all the electric tape, so it looked nicer. Because it really didn't look nice with black tape all over the beautiful car. I REALLY LIKE MY CAR!!!!!

Goal: nothing

June 16, 2008: Today we glued and pasted parts in our car. And then we tried it like 3 times in the classroom,and in all the times it worked. Then we went outside to try it, and it went really fast in from the four square fields until 1 meter before reaching the soccer field. It was really cool watching how it went. The we tried it 3 more times. WE also showed our car to Ms.Bardalez, she really liked it. And to Ms. Hansen too. I proud of L.A.S Sexy!

Goal for tomorrow: Work on the website and put pictures in it.

                                                                 

The race!!

Our car was the third car to start the race. As soon as it was our time to do the race, we where really happy. The first time we tried it it worked. WE tried it 3 times. Two times without string, and the last time with the string. The first time with out string it went fast, but very curvy and crucket, and went directly to Ms. Gaby. It almost crashed with her feet. The second time without string it went faste, and crucked and it got stuck because of a leave. Then the third time , it used string. We connected it and it went straight!!!!! And from all the cars it was the irst to pass the goal line. It passes the goal in 13.859 seconds!!! I'm very proud of L.A.S Sexy!!!!
