W h a t  i s  I n t e r n e t
Internet is a series of connected networks for information exchange.  What we know as "the net" or the World Wide Web (WWW) is just one part of it.  Internet can provide a wealth of resources...if we know when, where and how to look.  Internet can be a great tool for individualized instruction, with it, students can take more responsibility for their own learning

-Internet  or "Internetting" started as a communication tool, a way to exchange files through phone lines  (1973)
-Browsers are graphic interfaces to make the internet more user friendly, the most common ones are Netscape and Internet Explorer, the first one was Mosaic (1993) created by the University of Illinois.
-The language of the net is HTML  it stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. 

-The way information travels in the net is regulated by HTTP which stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol
